At Lasersoft we follow the KISS principle: Keep it Simple Saints
A CNC is many times the best solution for doing complex multi-axes coordinated motion systems. Although modern PLC's contain some subset of the ability's of the CNC's programming methods, they do not lend themselves to to writing complex mathematical equations in a sequential high level language format. Why is that important? Because solving equations with multiple unknowns is nearly impossible to do correctly with any other language format.
Even so... Just because you use a CNC does NOT mean you will get the best solution. The way the CNC is programmed to is the key. Sometimes a programmer will be tempted to use standard trig equations to solve 3D problems instead of using linear algebra techniques. Or the programmer has not been experienced in proper program coding techniques so others coming along later cannot easily jump in and effectively work. The results are systems that may work "good enough", but the results are not elegant, exact, closed solutions which result in less than perfect positioning and or confusing unreadable, almost unsupportable code.
At Lasersoft we make significant efforts, up front, to keep it simple.
Also a good, solid engineering design is ABSOLUTELY necessary from the beginning of any complex system, YOU MUST HAVE MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL AND SOFTWARE engineers that can work together from the concept through completion in order to gain the maximum potential of any system. At Lasersoft, our program managers are experienced in all 3 disciplines of engineering technologies (Mechanical , Electrical and Software) so that, when we work together with you from the beginning until the end, the result is a turn-key solution that just works.

Partners and Outreach
Lasersoft, Inc is devoted to reaching out to under-served communities and to developing long-term relationships with various nonprofit organizations that serve those communities. We see our efforts through our community outreach programs in Michigan and in the Philippines as a way of strengthening ties with the community by way of supporting hurting and broken people here and abroad.

History
Lasersoft of Michigan started in 1994 developing a series of 3D CAD/CAM offline programming software solutions for use with Mazak 5 Axis laser machines. The software worked on Micro Engineering Solutions S3000 platform using it's C library of functions (S3L.h). The software sold under the name Maz-CAT (for Mazak Computer Aided Teaching). It was revolutionary for it's time, moving the editing process from the shop floor to the CAD/CAM system. After the program was taught at the machine, the NC program was brought back into the CAD system for viewing and editing which great enhanced shop production by moving the process from a $750K machine to a $15K CAD workstation. If the operators made changes to the NC program at the machine, no problem, just read the NC program back into the CAD system for additional viewing and editing if required.
Unfortunately the CAD system we developed on was DOS based and became obsolete over time.
Over the years, we at Lasersoft tried to look for alternatives to re-develop but found none that would work. Finally in 2013, since so many years had passed and software technologies had changed so much, we decided it made sense to just start over completely, start from scratch and develop an all new, light weight, stand-alone, CHANGES ONLY system that could be used NOT ONLY for Mazak but for NTC and Mitsubishi and ANY OTHER CNC laser machines.
There would be several advantages to Lasesoft Changes 3D Workation(c)TM, but most of all, we made the commitment to resource this product fully in order to provide an ever advancing technology to to support the 5 axis laser shops in the area and the US, and eventually around the world.
Today Lasersoft also offers many high tech services, including turn key automation engineering providing unique solutions to advanced manufacturing problems.
